Bench Press
After unracking, you will hear a "start" command from the head judge indicating you can start the lift. The bar may not descend and arms cannot be bent prior to this command.
You must pause the weight on your chest and come to a complete stop, with no sinking into your chest.
You will then hear a "press" command to start moving the bar back up.
After the bar is fully locked out, you will get a "rack" command to rerack the barbell.
Permitted:
- Wrist wraps
- Chalk for hands and upper back
- Lift off from rack
Deadlift
You must come to a full lockout at the top of the lift and wait for the "down" command from the head judge
You must control the bar with your hands all the way to the ground to complete the lift and get successful white lights.
All lifters must have socks covering shins.
Prohibited:
- Wrist straps to assist grip
- hitching or ramping of the barbell
- Soft knees or soft hips on lockout
Permitted:
- Wrist wraps
- Sumo stance and Conventional stance
- Baby powder for legs and chalk for hands
GENERAL COMPETITION RULES:
1. Each lifter will get three attempts per lift.
2. Lifters will be in order from lightest opening attempt to heaviest.
3. Lifters have one minute to complete each attempt.
4. After a failed attempt, you may retake the same weight or more on the next attempt.
5. You must submit your next attempt to the judges table within one minute of your previous attempt
6. No singlet is necessary, just gym attire!
